CNOOC Project FAT Acceptance Successfully Completed | Experts from CCS Tianjin Branch Visit Jinjing, Offshore Platform Special Air Compressor Skid Passes Factory Acceptance Inspection
August 7, 2026 – A delegation consisting of the FAT acceptance leading group of CNOOC Project and certified inspection specialists from Tianjin Branch of China Classification Society (CCS) visited Jinjing’s manufacturing base to conduct full-process Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), performance verification, structural and electrical control system inspection on the integrated air compressor skid complete set independently developed and manufactured by Jinjing for offshore oil and gas fields. Successfully passing CCS classification society certification and rigorous technical review specified by CNOOC, the complete equipment was formally delivered. This milestone achievement further consolidates Jinjing’s leading position in the field of special compressed air equipment for marine engineering, providing robust support for the stable commissioning and long-term safe operation of offshore drilling platforms and oil & gas development projects across the Bohai Sea, East China Sea and South China Sea.
Comprehensive On-site Verification in Strict Compliance with Marine Engineering Standard System
At the FAT acceptance site, technical personnel carried out the assembly and debugging of the equipment, while CCS classification society experts and CNOOC project team inspected the entire equipment, pipelines, and electrical control systems on site, and conducted factory acceptance testing
During the acceptance, technical experts from CNOOC Project and certified CCS surveyors carried out item-by-item inspection of the full skid-mounted equipment in accordance with Technical Specification for Procurement of Offshore Oil & Gas Field Air Compressor Skids, API 619, GB/T 150 Pressure Vessel Codes and CCS Inspection Standards for Offshore Facility Equipment. The inspection covered six core modules: mechanical main body, anti-corrosion structure, piping system, instrument automatic control, electrical safety, noise and vibration reduction.
Verification of Complete Skid Structure & Integration Integrity
Stainless steel chassis is corrosion-resistant and particularly suitable for the environment of offshore drilling platforms
The expert team inspected the integrated skid base, 316L stainless steel rain-proof housing and lifting lug load-bearing structure on site, and reviewed structural design documents including calculation reports verifying lifting lugs with a safety load factor of 2.0 and a 30-year overall design service life for the complete equipment. Adopting an integrated skid-mounted design, the skid pre-installs all piping and instrument wiring for air compressor units, heatless regenerative dryers, multi-stage filtration systems and local control panels. Owners only need to connect pipelines and cables outside the skid, drastically shortening offshore platform installation cycles.
The delivered equipment covers full displacement series ranging from 300 Sm³/h to 1,200 Sm³/h, configured as Type "-2" (dual compressor units) and Type "-3" (triple compressor units) with stable discharge pressure ranging from 1,000 kPaG to 1,300 kPaG, catering to various utility air and instrument air load demands of different offshore platforms.
Special Performance Test of Process Air Quality
Full air quality performance tests were completed on site with differentiated purification indicators for utility air and instrument air strictly implemented:
1 Utility Air: Oil content <1 mg/m³, solid particle size ≤5 μm, total particulate contamination ≤5 mg/m³
2 Instrument Air: Oil content <0.1 mg/m³, solid particle size ≤1 μm, total particulate contamination ≤1 mg/m³
The heatless twin-tower regenerative dryer delivers dry air with a pressure dew point of -40 ℃ consistently, with a drying cycle not exceeding 10 minutes. A capacitive dew point analyzer (accuracy ±2 ℃, response time t63 ≤10 s) is equipped for real-time online monitoring.
3 The full purification system adopts two parallel pre-filters and post precision filters filled with high-activity alumina desiccant. Access manholes are reserved on dryer vessels for desiccant replacement at offshore sites without interrupting air supply.
Acceptance of Marine Weather Resistance & Anti-corrosion System
To accommodate extreme marine operating conditions featuring wide temperature ranges and high salt/humidity, including -25 ℃ ~ 37.8 ℃ for the Bohai Sea and 2.9 ℃ ~ 38.2 ℃ for the South China Sea, the expert team reviewed complete anti-corrosion coating documentation: carbon steel skid bases and pipelines are blast-cleaned to Sa2.5 grade, coated with a three-layer system of zinc-rich epoxy primer, epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate coat and polyurethane topcoat with a total dry film thickness of 335 μm, complying with the NORSOK M501 marine anti-corrosion certification. Special stainless steel coating systems are applied to stainless steel instrument piping and valves, all fasteners are hot-dipped zinc coated for corrosion protection, and local control panels & nameplates are fully manufactured from 316L stainless steel to withstand persistent offshore salt spray erosion.
Compliance Review of Electrical & Instrument Systems
All outdoor electrical and instrument equipment achieves an IP56 protection rating. Main motors satisfy Grade 2 energy efficiency per GB 18613 and IE4 ultra-high efficiency requirements specified in IEC 60034-30, with CCS certification documents confirming suitability for marine environments supplied upon delivery. The 316L stainless steel control panel is equipped with space heaters, anti-sag secondary circuits and RS485 MODBUS RTU communication ports for seamless connection with platform central control systems. Passive dry contact signals for general fault alarms, unit shutdown alarms and unit running/standby status fully meet interface specifications.
Instrument valves, transmitters and safety relief valves adopt internationally renowned brands listed in Appendix B. Safety relief valves hold ASME Section VIII UV certification and CCS marine inspection certificates. All cables inside the skid are marine-grade low-smoke zero-halogen fire-resistant armoured cables; emergency shutdown loop cables comply with the fire resistance standard IEC 60331. Self-limiting electric heat tracing is equipped with complete thermal calculation documents for the full skid.
Noise, Vibration & Safety Function Tests
4-hour full-load continuous performance test, noise test, hydrostatic pressure test and air tightness leakage test were completed on site. The overall noise level measured 1 meter from the skid surface is controlled below 85 dB(A). Integrated vibration damping structures are embedded inside the skid, eliminating the need for secondary vibration reduction on platform decks. The system supports automatic load rotation, automatic startup of standby units triggered by pressure drop, interlock protection for low lubricating oil pressure and high temperature/pressure, with both manual and automatic operation modes available to ensure stable unattended operation.
Core Technical Highlights Tailored for Exclusive Offshore Platform Operating Conditions
The offshore air compressor skid delivered this time is a customized marine engineering model fully complying with CNOOC’s unified procurement technical specifications, featuring proprietary designs addressing critical pain points of offshore platforms:
1 High-efficiency Twin-screw Main Unit
The twin-screw airend is manufactured to API 619 standards with direct drive (belt drive is prohibited). Motor rated power reserves a 110% safety margin, and the complete unit achieves Grade 2 or higher energy efficiency as defined in GB 19153-2019. Third-party energy efficiency test reports and China Energy Label Network inquiry screenshots are provided together with equipment delivery to cut long-term offshore power consumption. The energy-saving drive system dynamically adjusts output power based on actual operating loads and triggers delay shutdown under no-load conditions to eliminate idle power waste.
